Vigilo ("we", "the service") provides real-time disease outbreak monitoring. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you subscribe to alerts, why we collect it, and your rights regarding it.

1. What we collect

• Email address — only when you voluntarily submit it to subscribe to outbreak alerts or weekly digests.
• Watched countries — the list of regions you choose to follow, so we can send relevant alerts.
• Anonymous usage analytics — aggregated, non-identifying visit statistics (Yandex Metrica) to improve the service.

We do not collect your name, location, payment details, or any sensitive personal information. We do not track your identity across other websites.

2. Why we use it

• To send you email notifications about disease outbreaks in the countries you follow.
• To send optional weekly digest emails.
• To let you unsubscribe at any time.

We will never sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for marketing.

3. How it is stored

Your email and preferences are stored securely using Netlify Blobs (our hosting provider's encrypted storage). Email delivery is handled by Resend. Both providers process data solely on our behalf and under their own data-protection agreements.

4. Your consent

By submitting your email address through any subscription form on Vigilo, you confirm that you have read and agree to this Privacy Policy and consent to receiving outbreak alert emails from us.

5. Your rights

• Unsubscribe — every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time.
• Deletion — request full removal of your data by emailing us (see below). We will delete it within 30 days.
• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.

6. Data retention

We keep your email only while your subscription is active. Once you unsubscribe, your address is removed from active mailing lists and deleted within 30 days.
